Flower Farmer - Part Time

Rising Tide Botanicals is a flower farm located by the sea in Monmouth County, NJ. The farm is 3 acres, with 1 in full production. This is our first year at a new property so much of this season will be setting up infrastructure and establishing new plantings. Rising Tide Botanicals is not certified organic, but we are committed to sustainable agricultural practices that preserve and improve the health of the land that we work on. We are also introducing vegetables this season.

Day to day tasks include planting, weeding, harvesting, fixing fence, trellising crops, and general field maintenance. Work will also include sorting CSA’s for our vegetable customers and putting together design buckets for our florists.

Our season runs April through November. We ask that applicants commit to work for the entirety of the season. This is an outdoor, physically demanding position; we work in all types of weather. Ideal applicants possess excellent work ethic, good communication skills, and a flexible, positive attitude. Must be able to work effectively in group settings as well as independently. Farm or other outdoor work experience is useful, but not necessary.

Perks include: an upbeat, team-oriented work environment, produce and flower stipend, and opportunities to learn more about sustainable farming. There is also potential for long-term, year round employment.

Salary: $20 an hour.

Floral Designer - Freelance - Brooklny/NY

Rising Tide Botanicals is a flower farm & design studio located by the sea in Monmouth County, NJ. The farm is 3 acres, with 1 in full production. This is our first year at a new property so much of this season will be setting up infrastructure and establishing new plantings. Rising Tide Botanicals is not certified organic, but we are committed to sustainable agricultural practices that preserve and improve the health of the land that we work on. We are also introducing vegetables this season as we launch our non - profit, Farmers Feed America, which pairs farms with their local food banks.

We are currently looking to expand our freelance, day of design staff in Brooklyn/NY.  Daily tasks will include unloading buckets of florals, working on installation pieces and overall setup of the venue for events.  Breakdown is not necessary but we are looking for individuals who will work the full day.  

You will receive a full mood board and design breakdown of all items as well as run of show for the day a week prior to the event.
